The Provincial Excise and Taxation Department has issued necessary instructions to its field formations that property tax demand notices shall neither be served upon the owners of one residential house, measuring an area up to five marlas used for residential purposes irrespective of its rental value, who have not yet made payment of property tax for the year 2004-05. Besides, the remaining payment of tax shall not be stressed upon such category of assesses, who have already made part payment of the tax, the statement said.

The instructions by the department were issued in pursuance of the provincial cabinet decision taken in its meeting held on November 30, 2004.
